SAMANTHA PARFREY

Samantha received her Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN and her B.S. in botany and ethnobotany from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

 

She is nationally board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed by the state of Wisconsin.  She also underwent special training to be certified as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) to treat patients with drug addiction, PTSD, and other emotional disorders.

Samantha uses Traditional Chinese, Kiiko (Japanese), and laser acupuncture techniques. She is a certified Medicinal Aromatherapist that uses plant essences to treat physical and emotional issues. To help assist each individual's goals she may also use muscle testing or integrative life coaching techniques. 

Samantha's Experience:

 

•Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN — An integrated hospital where Samantha treated inpatients with acupuncture, qi gong healing, and musical therapy. She also treated patients for post-surgical knee and hip replacement.

 

•The Pillsbury House — An integrated clinic where medical, chiropractic, acupuncture, psychology and massage students can work together to treat patients effectively. Samantha treated patients using acupuncture in a community setting.

 

Courage Center — A rehabilitation center for people with disabilities. Samantha treated patients with strokes, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, neurological conditions, and phantom limb pain.

 

•Salvation Army Homeless Shelter Clinic — Offers free acupuncture and chiropractic services for the public. Samantha treated many people with drug addictions, mental illness, hepatitis, and pain.

 

•Edith Davis Teaching Clinic — A teaching clinic at NWHSU where Samantha treated patients using acupuncture and herbs.

  

It will be evident once you meet Samantha that her passion is to help others. She has a unique gift of listening and understanding her patients and friends. She takes pleasure in being out in nature, whether it is gardening, camping, or hiking. She also cherishes cooking with her family and friends.
