Takhinsha has joined our Healing Grounds Center team to help individuals achieve their optimal well-being through Acupuncture. We can't wait for you to meet her!
Takhinsha received her Master’s degree from Pacific College of Health and Science, Chicago. Before becoming an acupuncturist Takhinsha fought professionally representing Mexico in taekwondo, winning many international competitions, including the Pan-American Games in 2003.
When she retired from competing and transitioned to a “normal” life she was met with constant headaches, physical pain, and anxiety. This opened her eyes to the need for a holistic approach to facilitate this transition. Some of the therapies that helped her were massage therapy, acupuncture, and meditation. Her journey led her to receive a Holistic Health Associate degree and Massage Therapy certification from the International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego, California. Upon completion, Takhinsha traveled for 2 years throughout Asia, where she studied different bodywork modalities and traditional medicines, giving her extensive knowledge which she uses in her treatments.
Takhinsha specializes in orthopedic acupuncture and mental/emotional disorders.
She uses a multidisciplinary approach utilizing acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, Tui na, electrical stimulation, and auricular acupuncture.
